The method involves storing address identifiers of a party (1) to obtain two different electronic devices of different format specific transmission channels. A message is received from another party (2) for the former party, and the address identifiers are assigned to the message. One of the transmission channels appropriate for an address identifier is selected for transmitting the message to the former party. The message is transmitted by the selected transmission channel to the latter party.
