An LCD is provided to form a floating metal pattern as a light shielding layer between a signal line and a common line of a thin film transistor substrate to prevent crosstalk and improve the aperture ratio. A floating metal pattern(21') is formed between a signal line(23) and a common line(31) of a thin film transistor substrate, wherein the floating metal pattern functions as a light shielding layer. A portion of the thin film transistor, which is not blocked by the light shielding layer, is shield by the common line, or a black matrix(12) of a color filter substrate. The floating metal pattern covers a peripheral region of an adjacent common line, and the signal line is deposited below the floating metal pattern. |
