A hydrogen generator is provided to maintain the generation amount of hydrogen per unit time constantly by maintaining a reaction area on which an electrolyte and electrode plates come in contact with each other, miniaturize the hydrogen generator by reducing the volume of the hydrogen generator, and enable the hydrogen generator to be adopted to fuel cells for electronic appliances. A hydrogen generator(100) comprises an electrolytic cell(110), a cover(120) which covers an open upper part of the electrolytic cell to seal the electrolytic cell and has at least one hydrogen exhaust port(124), an expansion and contraction bag(130) which is disposed in the electrolytic cell and filled with a predetermined amount of electrolyte, an electrode part(140) which is fixed to the cover and dipped into the electrolyte filled in the expansion and contraction bag to electrolyze the electrolyte when power is applied to the electrode part, and a power supply(150) for applying an electric current to the electrode part. The expansion and contraction bag includes a plurality of fixing parts(131), an outlet(134), and an expansion and contraction part(132). |
