Arrangement of a particle filter and a sensor for resistive determination of concentrations of conductive particles in gases

The arrangement has a heating device for thermal regeneration of a particle filter. A resistive particle sensor (10) determining concentrations of conductive particles in gases is arranged downstream to the filter in a gas mixture flow. The sensor has a surface with electrodes (11) that are arranged on the surface and spaced at a distance from each other. The conductive particles are deposited on the surface and bridges distance between the electrodes. The filter and the sensor are arranged such that the heating device is utilized for thermal regeneration of the particle filter and the sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring the particle concentration in the exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine.
