An article storage facility is provided to keep high cleanness of articles stored in storage units. An article storage facility comprises an article storage shelf(3) including plural storage units(2), an article carrying unit(5) including an article transfer unit for transferring an article freely between the storage units and charging/withdrawing articles out of the storage units, a down-flow type clean air ventilation unit(6) for ventilating clean air through the storage units from the rear of the article storage shelf and flowing the clean air downward from an upper side of a moving space of the article storage shelf, and a controller controlling operation of the article carrying unit. The storage unit is constructed to freely store an article keeping member(13A) of maintaining state and an article keeping member(13B) of non-maintaining state. The controller controls the operation of the article carrying unit so that the article keeping member of maintaining state is stored above the article keeping member of non-maintaining state.
