<p>A method for controlling thermo off of an air conditioner is provided to open an electronic expansion valve completely at a predetermined point between an indoor fan stop point and an operation resuming point temporarily to prevent a failure of compressor starting control due to insufficient output torque of the compressor. An air conditioner performs a cooling operation mode(302). An indoor temperature sensor measures an indoor temperature(304). A control block checks whether a difference value between the indoor temperature and a set temperature reaches a compressor stop condition(306). If so, the control block generates a control signal to stop a compressor while maintaining an opening value of an electronic expansion valve at an opening pulse value when the compressor is stopped(308). The control block generates a control signal to convert an indoor fan into a weak wind operation mode(310). The control block counts elapsed time after stopping the compressor, and checks whether the elapsed time reaches preliminarily set reference time(312). If so, the control block generates a control signal to stop an outdoor fan(314). The control block counts elapsed time after stopping the outdoor fan to check whether the elapsed time reaches preliminarily set reference time(316). If so, the control block generates a control signal to open the electronic expansion valve completely for predetermined time(318). When the difference value satisfies compressor operation resumption condition, the indoor fan and the outdoor fan are operated in a set blowoff force operation mode(320-322). After predetermined time elapsed since the indoor fan and the outdoor fan are operated, starting control of the compressor and opening control of the electronic expansion valve are resumed(324-326).</p> |
