A method for manufacturing an LCD is provided to transfer a pattern material formed on a supporter onto a substrate to achieve the formation of an insulating layer pattern having a contact hole without a photoresist pattern. A first substrate(100) is prepared. A supporter(500) having a concave portion and a convex portion is prepared. An insulating material is formed on the entire surface of the supporter. An insulating layer pattern(240) having a contact hole(242) is formed by contacting the supporter with the first substrate so that a portion of the insulating material, which is formed on the convex portion of the supporter, is transferred onto the first substrate.
