An LCD and a driving method thereof are provided to remove defective display of a moving image by driving a frame at a multiplied frame frequency while maintaining the same brightness as that in frame driving at an un-multiplied frame frequency. A frequency converting unit(211) receives a frame, converts a frame frequency, and successively outputs the same frames within a predetermined time. A gray converting unit(212) converts gray values f pixels of the same frames, which have been successively input within the predetermined time from the frequency converting unit, through gray transition. The frequency converting unit includes a storage unit for temporarily storing an input frame, and a frequency conversion control unit for controlling to temporarily store the input frame in the storage unit, and successively read and output frames of the storage unit within the predetermined time by multiplying a first frame frequency to a second frame frequency.
