The method involves adjusting petrol or diesel mass flow for reaching changed operating condition, during gas operation for predetermined changes of the operating condition of the internal combustion engine additionally to the gas operation, until the gas mass flow is held up to the changed operating condition. The predetermined changes of the operating condition include positive sudden load variation or resetting after an overrun fuel cutoff.
