A method for promoting ash accumulation of a diesel particulate filter is provided to analyze easily the effects of ash accumulated in the diesel particulate filter upon an engine exhaust system and a diesel particulate removing system. A method for promoting ash accumulation of a diesel particulate filter includes a first step of accumulating soot in the diesel particulate filter by driving an engine over a time set in accordance with the frequent RPM, a second step of raising the temperature of the diesel particulate filter, burning soot accumulated in the diesel particulate filter, and regenerating the diesel particulate filter when the engine is driven over the set time, a third step of measuring the weight of the diesel particulate filter when the first step and the second step are repeated over a preset number of time, and a fourth step of accumulating ash in the diesel particulate filter by repeating the third step.
