A multi battery cell control method and portable equipment with the same are provided to extend the use time of portable equipment by independently charging and discharging a plurality of battery cells according to the status information of a battery. A multi battery cell control method includes the steps of: detecting the status information of a battery for more than two battery cells(S10); and independently charging and discharging the battery cells based on the status information of the battery according to a predetermined order. The charging and discharging step includes the steps of: checking the abnormality of battery cells(S12); and controlling the charging and discharging of battery cells according to the result of checking. The checking step includes the steps of: supplying charging current to each battery cell; detecting the charging voltage of each battery cell; and determining the battery cell, whose charging voltage is changed, as the normal battery cell.
