An electronically controlled brake system is provided to select a common brake mode and a brake-by-wire (BBW) brake mode to thus improve durability thereof. An electronically controlled brake system comprises a master cylinder forming hydraulic pressure according to pedaling force of a driver, a hydraulic forming part forming hydraulic pressure in response to a signal corresponding to the pedaling force, a wheel cylinder applying braking force to each wheel using the hydraulic pressure of the master cylinder or the hydraulic forming part, a mode selection valve installed on a hydraulic line transmitting the hydraulic pressure to the wheel cylinder and selecting one of the master cylinder and the hydraulic forming part so as to transmit the hydraulic pressure to the wheel cylinder. The brake system drives a brake in one of a common brake mode and a BBW brake mode depending on opening or shutting of the mode selection valve. |
