A plate type sliding bearing comprising sintered segments with a sloped joining surface and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to widen an impregnation area of lubricating oil. A plate type sliding bearing comprising sintered segments with a sloped joining surface includes a plate type steel substrate(3), a sintered layer(15b), and a joining surface(17b). The sintered layer is formed by laminating a plurality of plate type sintered segments on a friction surface of the steel substrate. The joining surface where the plate type sintered segments are in contact with each other is formed to be sloped. Pressure of a puncher is applied to the sloped joining surface when the sintered segments together, or the sintered segments and the steel substrate are joined by being pressed by the puncher and sintered in a sintering furnace.
