METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING DICTIONARY AND TRANSLATION SERVICE USING MESSAGE SERVICE IN WIRE OR MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK

A method and an apparatus for providing a dictionary and a transmission service using a message service in a wired/wireless communication network are provided to allow a sender to extract a particular word or sentence, re-align it according to various expression methods, and send a message to many users belonging to a group. A short message transmitted by a sender is received through an SMSC(Short Message Service Center). It is checked whether content of the received short message includes a certain word or sentence. A word or sentence which has been translated according to a reference previously selected by the sender is extracted from the searched word or sentence. The extracted word or sentence is added to the short message. The short message is transmitted to the SMSC. The SMSC transmits the received short message to a recipient through a destination number designated by the sender.
