A handle rod for a door is provided to carve a phrase showing opening and closing direction of the door or an advertisement and so on by installing a supporting plate supporting the handle rod outward. A handle rod for a door includes a handle rod(3) and a supporting plate(5). The handle rod is fixed to one surface of the door in a vertical or horizontal direction, and is formed in the shape of being grasped by a hand. The supporting plate and the handle rod are arranged in a line on the other surface of the door. The supporting plate is supported by being connected to a fixed installation mount(7), and protruded to avoid the position of the handle rod. A phrase showing opening and closing direction of the door or an advertisement and so on are carved in the front and rear surfaces of the supporting plate.
