A two-way open type locking device is provided to prevent failures of the locking device caused due to excessive force applied from a user, by operating the locking device by pushing or pulling a lever. A two-way open type locking device(100) includes a hook member(130), a rack gear(131) and a stopper(132), a rotating gear(120), a gear shaft groove(125), a lever(110), and an extended piece(117). The hook member is arranged to slide in forward and backward directions so as to adjust locking and unlocking. The rack gear and the stopper are formed at the hook member. The rotating gear is engaged with the rack gear. The gear shaft groove permits a gear shat(122) of the rotating gear to move along the gear shaft groove. The lever has a gear portion(115) to be engaged with the rotating gear. The extended piece is extended toward the stopper of the hook member from the lever.
