An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method of fabricating the LCD are provided to simultaneously form a common line coming into contact with a silver dot and data lines on a gate insulating layer to prevent light leakage and improve display quality. An LCD includes an LCD panel, a plurality of gate ICs(Integrated Circuits), a plurality of data ICs, a common line(191), and a silver dot(186). The LCD panel includes a color filter array substrate on which a common electrode is formed and a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array substrate. The gate ICs supply a gate voltage to gate lines formed on the TFT array substrate. The data ICs provide a data voltage to data lines formed on the TFT array substrate. The common line is located between neighboring gate ICs and/or between neighboring data ICs. The silver dot electrically connects the common electrode to the common line. The common line is formed of the same material as the data lines on a gate insulating layer formed on the TFT array substrate. |
