摘要 A polyvinyl alcohol filament is provided to have a useful application to a tire cord, an industrial rope, a stiffener for civil work, or materials of a sheet belt or well-being materials, by manufacturing the polyvinyl alcohol filament to have high tenacity, high modulus, and low drawing rate. A polyvinyl alcohol filament is obtained by spinning a polyvinyl alcohol chip having a polymerization degree of 1,500-7,000 and a saponification degree of 99.5-99.9 mol%. The polyvinyl alcohol filament has a stress-strain curve, in which the polyvinyl alcohol filament is drawn by less than 1.0% and has an initial modulus of no less than 300-330 g/d under an initial stress of 2.0 g/d, drawn by no more than 5.0% during a stress section from 2.0 g/d to 14 g/d, and drawn by at least 1.0-1.5% during a section from a tensile stress of 14.0 g/d to the cut time of yarn.
