The device has a transfer conveyor belt for supplying blocks to a receiving hopper from the ground and equipped with two shutters articulated by a double acting jack. The shutters place the blocks in front of a wedge and maintain the blocks in a semi-opened position. The shutters release the blocks in a completely open position, so that the blocks fall on an apron of a block splitting machine for being cut into several pieces.
