A motor for an electric power steering unit is provided to prevent a magnet from being separated from a core by contacting an outer periphery of the magnet on an inner periphery of a support member. An upper surface of a housing is opened. A bracket is coupled with the upper surface of the housing and contains a bearing. A rotation shaft(140) is rotatably supported by the bearing. An upper portion of the rotation shaft is exposed from the bracket and connected to a steering shaft. A core(151) is fixed on an outer periphery of the rotation shaft. Plural magnets(155) are fixed on an outer periphery of the core with a constant distance. A support member(180) is coupled with the core and contacted with the outer periphery of the magnet. The support member supports the magnet, so that the magnet is coupled with a predetermined portion of the core. A coil is fixed on the housing to enclose the support member. The coil interacts with the magnet to rotate the magnet.
