An apparatus for monitoring the input of chemicals is provided to improve the stability in supply of the chemicals, by using a water wheel rotated by weight of the chemicals so as to check whether the chemicals are supply in a normal state or in an abnormal state. A water wheel(10) is rotated by weight of chemicals. A detection unit(20) converts a variation of rotational rate of the water wheel into an electric signal. A central process unit analyzes the signal transferred from the detection unit to check whether the chemicals are supplied in a normal state or in an abnormal state. The detection unit includes a tachometer, an optical sensor, or a rotary encoder, which is connected to a rotary shaft of the water wheel. The tachometer converts the rotational operation of the rotary shaft into a pulse signal. The optical sensor analyzes the measurement light, which is applied to the rotary shaft and reflected from the rotary shaft. The rotary encoder converts the rotational operation of the rotary shaft into a digital signal. |
