A TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) and a method of manufacturing the TFT-LCD are provided to form a bar-shaped metal layer when source and drain electrode are formed to repair a gate line using the metal layer when the gate line is cut. A TFT-LCD includes a gate line(210), a data line(220), a TFT(T), a pixel electrode(260) and a bar-shaped metal layer. The gate line is formed on a substrate in one direction. The data line intersects the gate line to define a pixel region. The TFT includes a gate electrode extended from the gate line, an intrinsic and impurity-doped amorphous silicon layer formed on the gate electrode, a source electrode extended from the data line and a drain electrode opposite to the source electrode. The pixel electrode is connected to the drain electrode and formed in the pixel region. The metal layer is formed on the gate line and electrically insulated from the gate line. |
