PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heated container detecting mechanism capable of accurately detecting a heated container regardless of the shape of the heated container, and a cooking stove using the same. SOLUTION: A lead-switch driving magnet 5 and a lead switch 6 are set to face the outside of a cylindrical pipe 2, and a magnetic circuit is disposed in the cylindrical pipe 2. A magnetic shielding body 7 is fixed to a rod part 3 which moves in the vertical direction inside the cylindrical pipe 2. When the heated container is not set on the upper surface of the rod part 3, the magnetic field from the lead-switch driving magnet 5 to the lead switch 6 is shielded by the magnetic shielding body 7. When the heated container is set on the upper surface of the rod part 3, the magnetic shielding body 7 is also lowered as operatively connected with the rod part 3, and therefore, the magnetic field from the lead-switch driving magnet 5 is applied to the lead switch 6 and the heated container is detected.
