PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher which adjust the amount of water fed to an optimal amount in a washing step or a rinsing step even if the dishwasher is provided with a minimum number of water level sensors. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes a water level sensing means 10 to sense the level of water supplied to a washing tub 2 and used for washing dishes, and measures time elapsed from the start of water supply and estimates elapsed time until a prescribed water level is attained on the basis of time elapsed by the time when the water level sensing means 10 determines that a fixed water level is sensed. During a water supply, the dishwasher determines whether or not elapsed time estimated as time until the water level arrives at a target level elapses, and stops the water supply when determines that the time has elapsed.
