PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) in a high yield in a short time by a simple method without utilizing a gas as a raw material. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a fluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) and a derivative thereof comprises [I] a step of causing a fluoroalkyl alcohol represented by the formula: X-R<SB>f</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-OH (wherein X is a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or the like; and R<SB>f</SB>is an alkanediyl group or the like) to react with a tetrafluoroethane derivative represented by the formula: Y-CF<SB>2</SB>-CF<SB>2</SB>-Y (wherein Y is a halogen atom other than a fluorine atom) in the presence of a base to manufacture a compound (3) represented by the formula: X-R<SB>f</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-O-CF<SB>2</SB>-CF<SB>2</SB>-Y derivatives and [II] a step of causing the compound (3) to react with a metal-containing reagent to manufacture the fluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) represented by the formula: X-R<SB>f</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>OCF=CF<SB>2</SB>or a derivative thereof.
