A guide arrangement for a machine carriage 2 includes the use of identical guide-strips 4 which are mutually interchangeable. The guide strips are provided with threaded and countersunk bores 41 for securing to the carriage 2 and bed 1 and V-grooves are provided in the side-faces to carry rollers or balls 3a, 3b respectively. The strips may be secured from outside the frame and carriage members with means for adjustment as on the left of Fig. 1, or, they may be secured by the countersunk portion with short screws as on the right of Fig. 1. |
