[Also in Groups V and XXXVI] Ferrite cores having substantially squarelooped hysteresis characteristics are produced by dipping wax-coated steel formers into a ferrite powder blend dispersed in a methacrylate clear resin. The powder consists of a mixture of 0.15 mol. MgFe 2 O 4 and 0.85 mol. MnFe 2 O 4 . A second coating of 0.6 mol. MgFe 2 O 4 blended with 0.4 mol. MnFe 2 O 4 is applied in like manner. Upon drying, cutting to size and removing the bodies are fired. The square loop is produced since the second coating has the greater shrinkage factor and on firing the tube shrinks non-uniformly to produce inner stresses which influence the polycrystalline structure of the material. |
