Acid group-containing condensation products (I) based on (a) 2-12C di-aldehydes and (b) compounds with at least one NH 2 group, in which the acid groups concerned are sulfonic and/or carboxylic acid groups and their salts. Independent claims are included for (1) a method for the production of (I) by condensation of (a) and (b) (optionally in presence of other components) and reaction with acid group-introducing reactants before, during or after condensation (2) mixtures containing (I), dispersant(s) (preferably based on condensates of formaldehyde with naphthalenesulfonic acids, cresol-sulfonic acids, phenolsulfonic acids, ditolyl ether-sulfonic acids, bis-hydroxyphenyl sulfone and/or phenols) and (iii) filler(s), especially lignin sulfonates (3) leather or fur tanned or dressed with (I) .
