A light source holding device for a display device, where a display device light source is installable and removable and where the holding device is electrically connected to an outer lead (4) of the display device light source while holding the outer lead (4). The holder has a first member (6A) and a second member (6B). When the display device light source is installed in place, a holding section of the first member (6A) and a holding section of the second member (6B) are displaced to hold the outer lead (4) by elastic force, and the first member (6A) and the second member (6B) cross each other, as seen in an axial direction of the outer lead (4), at a position closer to the installation direction (D) than the holding section. The holder has high reliability in electrical connection between the holder and the outer lead of the display device light source.
