PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element molding method which enables the suppression of a performance degradation accompanying the anisotropy of a shape deviation and a density deviation of an optical element molded article produced by the shape deviation of a premolding raw material. SOLUTION: According to an aspect of the invention, the optical element molding method comprises: a first process of injection molding the premolding raw material 100 consisting of a lens constitution surface 120 and a flange portion 110 provided on the outer edge of the lens constitution surface, and projecting a gate part 130 at one end of the flange portion; a second process of cutting off one end of the flange portion containing the gate part as a cut part 112, and at the same time, of cutting off the other end of the flange portion as a shape compensation part 114 such that the shape of the flange portion become axisymmetric to the light axis of the lens constitution surface; and a third process of press molding in a state in which the premolding raw material molded in the second process is heat softened, and of molding the optical element molded article 150.
