PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specified substance extraction apparatus where artificial mistakes are prevented and secure recovery can be attained with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The specified substance extraction apparatus 1 is provided with: a cartridge holder 4 holding an extraction cartridge 11, and further selectively fittable to the first fitting position of a vessel holder 3 in which the exhaust port 17 of the liquid of the extraction cartridge 11 is located in a waste liquid vessel 23 or the second fitting position of the vessel holder 3 in which the exhaust port 17 is located in a recovery vessel 25; a selection means of designating the fact that the cartridge holder 4 is located in the first fitting position or the second fitting position on the vessel holder 3; and a restriction means of making a pressurized air feeding mechanism 5 operable only when the actual position of the cartridge holder 4 in the vessel holder 3 is the same as the designation by the selection means.
