PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for thawing frozen food compact so as to correspond to capacity enhancement in recent production lines, causing no damage on the taste or the flavor of fruit juice or the like so as to correspond to upgrade in preference, and efficiently thawed at temperature lower than that in conventional device. SOLUTION: The device for thawing frozen food is provided with the following: a heating container comprising an oblong one the side cross sectional surface of which has an almost U-shape, and at least at the outer peripheral wall side of the area of the bottom part of which a mechanism for heating frozen food housed in the oblong container via the inner peripheral wall of the oblong container is provided; a driving axis set at the inner part of the oblong container so that a rotary axis extends in an oblong direction, and equipped with a mechanism for heating the frozen food housed in the oblong container via its outer peripheral wall at the inner peripheral wall side; and a stirring tool set on the outer peripheral wall of the driving axis and stirring the frozen food housed in the oblong container in association with the rotation of the driving axis, so as to stir and thaw the frozen food while heating it from both of the sides of the heating container and the driving axis.
