A lipase inhibitor containing processed ginseng products is provided to inhibit activity of lipase for degrading lipid into fatty acid and glycerol, so that it is useful for inhibiting obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia and blood triglyceride, and controlling blood sugar level. A lipase inhibitor contains a processed ginseng product selected from ginseng extract, fermented ginseng with lactic acid bacteria or a combination thereof, wherein the lactic acid bacterium is selected from Lactobacillus sp., Streptococcus sp., Leuconostoc sp., Pediococcus sp., Bifidobacterium sp. and a combination thereof. A pharmaceutical composition comprises the lipase inhibitor and is formulated as powder, granule, tablet, a capsule, solution or injection.
