<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing or stopping the rotation of a driving motor for a fixing device as quick as possible while preventing the excessive temperature rise of a fixing roller after a medium conveyance operation is finished, and capable of suppressing a noise. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the fixing device 104 for fixing an image formed on the recording medium; a discharge unit 105 for conveying the fixed recording medium; a fixing motor 213 for driving the fixing roller 209 and a pressure roller 210 for the fixing device; a fixation control part 910 for controlling the rotating speed of the fixing motor 213 and a printing control part 800. After finishing conveyance of the fixed recording medium by the discharge unit 105, the rotating speed of the fixing motor 213 is made lower than the rotating speed set before a printing operation on the basis of the recording medium conveying speed before the conveyance finish. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
