<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna and a wireless tag communication device with a reduced installation space capable of decreasing an influence between adjacent antenna devices, and to provide a wireless tag communication device equipped with the array antenna. <P>SOLUTION: In the array antenna 16 composed of a plurality of antenna elements 30, at least part of the antenna elements 30 is covered with a higher permittivity solid dielectric 18 than air so that electric lengths can be lengthened among the plurality of the antenna elements 30, resulting in the same effect as in the case where distances are substantially increased among the antenna elements 30.
