<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a video camera having a power-saving mode in which it takes a short period of time until the start of recording, since the power-saving mode is assumed even if recording in a recording medium is not possible, a user may misunderstand that immediate recording is possible. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is provided with: a camera section for photographing an object to convert the photographed image into a video signal; a drive section for driving a recording medium for recording data; and a control section for controlling the whole imaging apparatus, wherein a power-saving mode different from a power-off mode and a power-on mode of the whole imaging apparatus is provided, and when recording in the recording medium is possible, the imaging apparatus permits a shift to the power-saving mode and when recording in the recording medium is not possible, the imaging apparatus inhibits the shift to the power-saving mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
