<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide string which has smaller loosening by stress relaxation compared to conventional strings for a racket, excellent durability, and ball hitting performance similar to natural gut strings. <P>SOLUTION: The string for a racket comprises a sea island type composite monofilament. The island components comprise polyester based resin and the sea component comprises at least one thermoplastic synthetic resin selected from polyamide based resin, fluorine based resin and polyolefine based resin.
