PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for restraining the occurrence of inconvenience due to a periodic variation in intake pressure or exhaust pressure, when introducing air to an exhaust flow passage, by using supercharging. SOLUTION: The air is introduced to the exhaust flow passage from an intake passage, by using a compressor for supercharging intake air, an air bypass flow passage for connecting the intake flow passage to the exhaust flow passage without passing through a combustion chamber, and an introducing valve arranged in the air bypass passage. Here, the compressor is driven so that the intake pressure in an inlet of the air bypass flow passage, becomes higher than the exhaust pressure in an outlet of the air bypass flow passage. Opening of the introducing valve is periodically varied by synchronizing with a periodic variation in reference pressure being at least one of the intake pressure and the exhaust pressure.
