PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which is capable of more suitably recording only points of a broadcast program. SOLUTION: In a HDD recorder 100, sound signal detection means (a CPU 111, a sound signal detection program 114d, etc.) detect sound signals in prescribed frequency bands from sound signals on the basis of the analysis of frequency analysis means (the CPU 111, a frequency analysis program 115c, etc.), and specific phrase extraction means (the CPU 111, a specific phrase extraction program 115e, etc.) extract specific phrases from the sound signals in the prescribed frequency bands detected by the sound signal detection means, and editing means (the CPU 111, an editing program 115, etc.) perform the editing of deleting broadcast program data other than only broadcast program data for a prescribed time before and after the extraction of the specific phrases, which include the time of the extraction of the specific phrases by the specific phrase extraction means out of broadcast program data recorded in a recording means (a magnetic disk 81).
