PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a lead-acid battery capable of easily inspecting sealability at a sealing portion of a case of the lead-acid battery, and inspecting a collective-exhaust passage installed in a cover of the case. SOLUTION: An openable hole 212 provided on a cover 2 of a case 3 is used as a gas filling port and all of holes other than the gas filling port provided on the cover of the case are closed. After compression gas is filled in the case, a condition that all of holes provided on the cover 2 of the case are closed is kept. By monitoring whether gas pressure in the case is reduced or not, sealability at a sealing portion of the case is inspected. Under a condition that compression gas is filled in the case 3, whether the collective-exhaust passage provided inside the cover 2 of the case is normal or not is inspected from a status of reduction of the gas pressure in the case when exhaust holes 210, 211 are opened.
