In the production of an electrical connecting element with pin contacts (12, 13, 14) accessible from the exterior, from a wire-form conductive cable (1) having electrical conductors (2, 3, 4) with insulated conductive wires (8, 9, 10), a length of insulation (5, 6, 7), corresponding at least to the length of the contacts, is removed from one end (25, 26, 27) of each wire, followed by plastic deformation of these wire ends to shape the contacts.
