A football boot comprises protective panels 1-11 placed at key positions within or on the boot. The panels are lightweight, durable and flexible, and are positioned so as not to inhibit the flexibility of the boot itself. Protective cushioning may be provided between the panels 1-11 and the foot to absorb some of the impact pressure of contact, and to prevent abrasion between the foot and the protective panels 1-11. The football boot is intended to reduce foot injuries when a player steps on or kicks the foot of another player. |
