<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the failure of detection of a face image from an image which constitutes a motion picture. <P>SOLUTION: First of all, a threshold value is calculated for detecting the face image (step 31). Then, an object is imaged (step 32), and a face score is obtained indicating the similarity of the face image of the object (steps 33 and 34). When the face score exceeds the threshold value (YES in step 35), the detection result is stored (step 36). Thereafter, the threshold value is re-calculated in a constant timing interval (YES in step 38, and step 31), and then face image detection processing is performed again. Since the threshold value is not fixed but can be changed, it can be prevented that the face image which has been detected until a certain frame of the object image is no longer detected after that frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
