<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio-controlled timepiece capable of reducing useless reception processing, and allowing a user to easily know the reason why radio waves could not be received. <P>SOLUTION: This radio-controlled timepiece includes: a reception means 2; a digital display means 6; a control means 4; and a storage means 5 with a reception prohibition condition stored therein. The control means 4 includes: an operation detection means 41 for detecting an operating status of the timepiece; a prohibition condition determination means 421 for determining whether the detected operation status corresponds to the reception prohibition condition or not; a reception prohibition means 431 for prohibiting reception processing by the reception means 2 when it is determined that the detected operating status corresponds to the reception prohibition condition; and a reception prohibition reason display means 441 for displaying the reason why the reception processing was prohibited on a display means 6. The reception processing can be prohibited when the operating status of the timepiece 1 corresponds to the reception prohibition condition, and useless reception processing can be prevented. The reception processing prohibition reason is displayed to allow the user to easily know the reception prohibition reason, and reception processing can be executed by eliminating a condition hindering the reception processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
