An electric flame effect fire with a mirrored front surface 120 has an internal source of illumination which when not activated allows a user to observe their reflection in the mirrored surface. When the internal illumination is activated fire effects generated behind the front screen can be observed. The mirroring may be a colouration effect, or a coating. The front sheet 120 may also be heated by a current passed through a thin oxide layer or a self adhesive heating element. The fire effects may be flame effects displayed on a LCD or plasma display screen 105 located behind the mirrored front surface 120, and a fuel bed 115 can be provided in between. |
