A connector 1 includes a connector housing 9 and a lever 4 rotatably mounted 31, 32 on the connector housing 9. The lever 4 includes a limiter projection 17. The lever rotates along an arrow K1 so as to move the connector 1 close to a mating connector 3. The lever rotates along another arrow K2 so as to move the connector 1 apart from the mating connector 3. The limiter projection 17 limits rotational movement of the lever in the disengaging direction K2. The limiter protrusion 17 preferably protrudes perpendicular to the connection and disengaging direction and is positioned adjacent a rear edge of the lever furthest from the mating connector 3. The limiting protuberance 17 may have an inclined face (19, figure 4) which engages an edge of the connector housing 9. The limiter protrusion 17 is preferably located close to the point at which the lever is mounted for rotation on the housing 9, but may also be located nearer an end 29c of the lever 4. The position of the limiter protrusion 17 varies the force exerted on the housing 9 by the abutting protrusion 17 and prevents the lever from coming off the connector housing. |
