PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system that can display road traffic information distinctly even if roads overlap owing to elevation and the like. SOLUTION: The navigation system has a display capable of displaying a road map, an acquisition means for acquiring road traffic information, and a display means for displaying the acquired road traffic information on the road map on the display. If an expressway H pertinent to the road traffic information is within a fixed display range of an ordinary road R, the display means displays on the display the road map and also a side view SV representing the vertical positional relationship between the expressway H and the ordinary road R and having congestion information J assigned to the expressway H.
