PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that accurately reproduces image density gradations while avoiding recording failures of fine halftone dots on a printing sheet. SOLUTION: An image processor 10 calculates a deformation direction and a deformation ratio of each halftone dot on the basis of printing conditions such as a printing direction and a printing speed. Halftone-dot data are deformed on the basis of the calculated deformation direction and deformation ratio so as to generate a halftone-dot image 70 by using the halftone-dot data after the deformation. The generated halftone-dot image 70 is composed of halftone dots that are deformed corresponding to the printing conditions. Therefore, each halftone dot is excellently recorded on the printing sheet so as to accurately reproduce the image density gradations. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
