PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the distortion of an image due to the operation of a focal plane shutter. SOLUTION: In the image of a first shot, a value close to zero is set as a factor by which the pixels are multiplied in upper rows of the image exposed at an early stage, the factor becomes larger as the rows of pixels go down, and the factor by which the pixels are multiplied at the lowermost row in the image becomes a value close to one. Any of the pixels located at the center of the image is not multiplied by the factor. In the image of a last shot, a value close to one is set as the factor by which the pixels are multiplied in upper rows of the image at an early stage of exposure, the factor becomes smaller as the rows of pixels go down, and the factor by which the pixels are multiplied at the lowermost row in the image becomes a value close to zero. An image, which looks like an image corrected on distortion as compared with an image obtained by a focal plane shutter operation, can be obtained by synthesizing these image data frames.
