PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for dispersing pigment, having good color-toning property and color-mixing property of organic coatings even on a condition of using neither pigment-dispersing agent nor color-segregation inhibitor. SOLUTION: The resin composition for dispersing pigment comprises a resin for organic coatings (A), a silicon compound represented by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>4a</SB>-Si-R<SP>2</SP><SB>a</SB>(I) and/or a partial hydrolyzate condensate thereof (B), an organic solvent (C) and a pigment (D), wherein carbon number of at least one alkoxy of the silicon compound and/or the partial hydrolyzate condensate (B) is≥2, and the average condensation degree of the silicon compound and/or the partial hydrolyzate condensate is >6. Wherein, in formula (I), R<SP>1</SP>is a univalent hydrocarbon group selected from a 1-10C alkyl, aryl and aralkyl, and may be the same or different when existing plurally; R<SP>2</SP>is a univalent hydrocarbon group selected from a 1-10C alkyl, aryl and aralkyl; and (a) denotes 0 or 1.
